Before Bariatric Surgery
All surgeries require a certain amount of preparation on the patient's part, and bariatric surgery is not different. So what should you do in the days before bariatric surgery? In short, you should stay in contact with your doctor and follow his or her advice.
Most doctors will prescribe certain actions in the days before surgery. For example, your surgeon will likely tell you to avoid certain foods in the days before surgery, or to avoid food altogether for a certain period of time prior to surgery.
Also, if you have not done so already, contact your insurance company to ensure that they will cover the cost of surgery (or most of the cost).
Many bariatric surgery patients also keep journals of their surgery process. Some even blog about it. If that's something you'd like to do, the days before bariatric surgery are a great time to start!
